The collection is an-ever growing vault of memorabilia from Boston’s unique nightlife, with event flyers, news articles, music, and other interactive media demonstrating the creativity of the interventions that communities have used to maneuver around or work within Boston’s strict liquor & entertainment laws (colloquially called the “blue laws”), its geography, and other conflicting forces.
Mission Control was a dial-in line that was updated with information about local area raves, parties, and club nights. Mike Wilkins, the creative force behind Mission Control (also known as MisCon) would receive information from organizers and record a script similar to the ones shown here.
